Lucid at a Friend's House

I was at a friend's house, where we were sleeping over. It was pretty late in the morning, but I was trying to get in some more sleep because I was still quite tired. There were a bunch of people crowded on a couch, including my friend's brother and her mom, but I seemed to have a bed to myself, one which was somewhat like my real bed.

Something about the situation made me do a reality check, so I looked at my hands. They didn't look all that strange, but they were slowly morphing; one of my fingers was splitting in two, and some of the others were weird lengths. I wasn't sure at first if it was a dream, but then I realized that even though my hands didn't look as crazy as they had before in dreams they still definitely didn't look like they did in real life.

Once I realized I was dreaming, I flew around a little bit. I went up above the building complex where my friend apparently lived, and could see the roofs; some of the looked like they had some machinery on them. I flew through the roof of one of the buildings, looking for people to talk to. This building seemed mostly empty, but I found my friend's grandfather alone at a fancy dining table, and said hello politely to him.

At this point the dream started to disappear, with the details all fading away into nothing. I quickly rubbed my hands together, which seemed to help a lot; the room and my friend's grandfather all quickly reappeared in full detail. I decided to spin around a bit for good measure; this was the first time I'd tried that, and I'm not sure if it actually helped, but I did it pretty much the same way you fly. My surroundings seemed to blur, but everything was still there when I set myself down on the ground.

I spent the rest of the dream mostly just walking and flying around and watching the dream. It seemed that most of the people I knew at college were there, as well as some from high school. A part of the house was being used by the Ballroom Dance club, as a bunch of members were waiting outside until that part was unlocked. I milled around there, then went inside into a school art room, where people were washing their hands. My mouth tasted strange, like it had sand in it or maybe from my retainer, so I got some water and rinsed it out. I felt silly since I was doing this in a dream, but it seemed to help. Some other people were talking about how the water there had sand in it, but I didn't notice that.

I walked through the house back to the part about where people had been napping on the couch before. Now it was being renovated though, and was just a really large empty concrete room. Lots of people from college were milling around in it; I saw my roommate and his girlfriend in the back, but wasn't sure if I wanted to talk to them. I also saw another friend from college in the room, while I was flying above the ground. I expected him to say something about my flying, but he just greeted me and gave me a high-five or something. Somewhere around this point I woke up.

I looked at my hands several times in the dream after I'd become conscious, to confirm that I was still dreaming and to remind myself of that. They looked mostly normal then, and I had to fly a little to be sure I was still dreaming.

Candy-grams and Lucidity

My roommate had just gotten back from elsewhere and was taking a nap, and I too was trying to go back to sleep. A bunch of people entered our room, slowly at first and then filling it, leaving us candy and cards everywhere. Most of them I recognized from my high school, and I figured that the cheer leading squad's candy-gram program must have expanded it's destinations to colleges now too. My roommate got a thank you card, although not much else, and I got a bunch of stuff, including a tall glass full of candy from a younger student who had a crush on me or something.

I wasn't sure who had given my roommate his card, or if they had actually been with my high school, since no one there would've known him. I though maybe someone saw the people on their way to my room and asked them to give him something. I got up, going to close the door or something before we went back to sleep, and was talking to my roommate a bit. I was really sleepy, and noticed this because I was saying the wrong words; I called our room my farm or something.

Looking outside the door I noticed that our dorm looked a lot different; there was a cull-de-sac with several doors, and the door at the other end had just closed itself. It occurred to me that this may be a dream, so I looked at my hands. I had a lot of fingers and they were moving back and forth. I jumped back into my room, shouting excitedly at my roommate that this was a Lucid Dream! He asked if I'd done this before and I said yes, but not with so much control. I rubbed my hands together, shouted "Clarity" and sniffed a lazyboy chair that was suddenly in front of me to try to increase the dream's clarity. This seemed to maybe work a little to stabilize it.

I went out a second door that was in our room to look for something to do. I decided to use passive control to make the next room somewhere with people, and when I opened it I found myself in a large lounge with a bunch of couches. Soon after that I woke up.

Evil PrisonTown

I was an older guy in a strange sort of prison-town. I was standing on a dock, which was somehow associated with my profession. I was annoyed that the town didn't have any proper walls; this was so that they could easily see you if you tried to run away, but it also meant that you weren't really safe anywhere. Someone could always be behind you, about to try to kill you.

Not finding anything to do at the dock, I decided to leave, maybe back homeward. I went through a stone building to another dock-thing which was actually a ferry. It was about to leave so I jumped on it, but managed instead to land in the water. Something was telling me to just wait for the next one, but I managed to shove my fingers in one of the cracks between the stones and slowly pull myself up on to the ferry. My lungs couldn't stand being underwater much longer though, and I gasped for air. I was able to breathe the water fine, and I realized that I was in a dream. I woke up soon after this though.

At another point, I was running through this town and I passed some gates. There were signs posted listing how much money you got for killing good guys or good ladies of various powers; apparently the people who ran the town were evil.

Bone-Hammocks in the Kitchen

I was in a kitchen which looked like my own but may have been at a college. I had just gone there with one of my friends, who had also brought her older sister. They looked very similar, with the older one just looking slightly older, taller, and a bit different: I noticed vividly that her nose looked a bit like a dragon snout, in a cool way.

The two girls sat down, and I tried to pull a chair out for myself to sit on but the placement was too awkward, since the kitchen was rather crowded with stuff. It seemed like there were other people milling around in the house. My friend, who was in college, explained that her older sister had actually just graduated from high school; apparently she had needed to repeat some classes, and may not have been all that smart. She was going to go to college now though.

I wanted to flirt with the younger sister, but was having a hard time doing it. The scene seemed to slowly change to a weird outdoors scene, and some strange foreign people walked through and talked to us. One of them spoke French; he was talking to us in English but occasionally he would slip into French. I didn't want to talk to him though, because he was taking my friend's attention away from me. I went over to a bin of snack food and poked through it. At times the francophone guy was sitting between me and the two sisters.

At one point when I left for a bit and got back, they had constructed these strange hammock-things made of bone. They weren't very comfortable, but would safely hold one above the ground. At this point I seemed to be wearing my retainer, because when we went on a strange journey to get some food I had to take it out. It seemed a little broken at one point, when I fell from my bone-hammock and it fell on the ground.

Searching a Skyscraper

I was in a tall office building, looking for something or someone. I kept using the elevators to visit different floors. The elevator system was very complex, featuring a number of different shafts and doors and types of elevators. Some of the elevators had attendants, and some seemed to have bars. The floors I got off on also seemed to vary in size.

Finally I got off at a hospital and started looking around. I went behind the desk and talked to the employees. I looked into the back area, although they didn't seem to want me to go back there. The employees weren't entirely friendly, and didn't seem to have what I was looking for. One of the nurses was dressed mostly in black scrubs or whatnot. I kissed her, and then suddenly realized I was in a dream; my view became very vivid at this point, the dream starting to really feel like real life. Soon after, though, I awoke.

Kidnapped in Dreamland

I'd been with my family at the beach. I remember stacking my clothes very carefully on my bag, so that they wouldn't fall in the sand and get dirty. It seemed like we'd decided to take a break there on our way home after I'd left school.

After we got home, I was sent into the forest for some reason by my Dad. I started to go out into it, but then I noticed that it looked like the ground in front of me disappeared; all I could see in front of me was a blue sky, somewhat covered by gray smoke. I called out to my Dad so I could ask him here the land mines we had planted here were, so I wouldn't step on them. When he came out, I fell backwards into a pit. He was getting to get a rope to pull me out with but then some strange people from another dimension came out of the pit and kidnapped both of us.

There were many groups of strangely dressed people here, mostly driving around cars, some of which could hover. They were sort of gangs, except it seemed like it was impossible to die, so they weren't all that serious; this was a sort of dream-land, and the gangs acted more cartoon-ish.

I found a car and started driving towards the place where my Dad had been taken to; some sort of castle. Along the way I stopped at a convenience store stand at the side of the corridor. There I saw some people I knew from high school; one of them was quite surprised to see me, and asked what I was doing there. They too seemed to know that this was a dream-land. I sat down at a table with a bunch of friends and we talked.

We were watching a video of some sort of temple, which I suddenly realized looked almost exactly like Tottoro's home, except with strange monochromatic paintings on the walls, almost like tiger stripes, and instead of Tottoro bouncing around there was a strange statue-like painted man. This man invited us into his home, and so the four of us joined him there, taking one of the cars that were around.

Somehow, though, things went wrong and we all started fighting; our host was a bit prone to anger, and we seemed to also be senselessly fighting amongst ourselves. There was a lot of blood, but since no one could die here nothing really bad happened. Since this was a dream-land, I started the encounter over several times, but each time it still somehow turned violent.

This dream really seemed to precipitate a big change in my outlook, somehow.

Transformers and Mutants

I was part of a group of people who had recently discovered to be mutants. Most of us just had general mutant abilities, and were able to do things like fly and control machinery. Some people had more powerful specific powers though, like being able to heal people.

The Autobot Transformers had apparently come to our planet and discovered that we had these mutant abilities; before this we thought we were just normal people. We were fighting against some evil forces, which included Megatron, who was too powerful for any of us to fight alone; I didn't want to do anything to gain his attention unless I was near Optimus Prime.

I was informed about my mutant powers, but wasn't terribly good at using them. They would work in spurts. I realized this was because I wasn't getting enough attention; the other mutants and the Autobots were off fighting or organizing our forces and I was just wandering around amongst them. I launched myself into the air, taking control over the radios in everyones' vehicles with my mutant powers and then broadcast my voice through them. I told them that I was tired of being ignored. After this they assigned me to a squad, so I could help them out.

We had managed to secure our planet for the moment against direct onslaught. But then someone was murdered in a hotel, a crime that was apparently committed by a member of the evil forces we were fighting against. Unsettled by this, I flew around the hotel looking for the murderer, but couldn't find any signs of him. The leader of my squad told me that my exuberance was admirable but that you couldn't solve crimes with those sort of tactics; you had to look for clues. We then went to some sort of greenhouse, looking for clues in the soil there.
