Assassin Branch

I was waving around a machete, looking for a situation in which to use it heroically. I spotted one of my Physics classmates, beset upon by a small creature with a dagger who was about to slit his throat. I yelled out, asking what the creature thought it was doing, but it paid me no mind. Determined to act heroically, even though I was a little doubtful of my skills with my weapon, I stepped up to it and brandished my machete.

The small creature attacked me, but I managed to pin him face-down on the ground. It turned out that he was a thick anthropomorphic branch, almost a small log. He had rather cartoon-like features. I sawed the top and bottom portions of his body off with my machete, then let him go. He ran a few feet away from me and then turned around, but I was confident he wouldn't try to attack again. I told him that if he threatened my classmate again I'd cut him in thirds once more.
