Attack of the Alien Plants

My family and I were standing on top of a large 3-cockpit bomber which was falling from the sky. I figured that it was an friendly plane, but Dad pointed out that it had been shot at. I tried to look at the crew inside but saw noone.

One of the cockpits, having been shot all the way around, fell off, descending rapidly. We knew we would be safe, however, because two thirds of the plane were still there to cushion our fall.

As soon as the cockpit that had broken off landed many thin, alien plants began to grow very rapidly. They could launch damaging spores at you, as well as attack with their limbs. I knew I had seen them before, and remembered reading about them in a book by Asimov. I had a plasma pistol and spent some time running around, avoiding and fighting the plants.

(I didn't really read any such book.)
