A Moment of Lucidity

I was playing a game, going through a bunch of puzzles in a first person view. There was a short person who was guiding me, and giving basic hints.

My guide told me to, when the door in front of me was open, dash through the blinds on the other side and to just run straight forward. After I went through the blinds, however, I saw that I was standing on a set of stairs, and, overcome by fear, I veered to the left and slowed down. The stairs then disappeared, and my guide reappeared.

The room looked like a pantry, with a refrigerator, stove, and other appliances lining the wall across from me, and a washer and drier, both piled high with clothes, on my side of the room, as well as a number of other tables and items. My guide said something about just waiting, and I began to do so.

Soon, however, the shadows began to lengthen and shake, and I pointed in fright to my own shadow, letting out a yell. Looking at the ceiling near the shadow's head, however, I saw a triangle shaped sign, like those on the back of 18 wheelers, or some sort of triangle vent, slowly fade into existance.

Somehow, this let me know immediately that I was dreaming, and I began to walk around. Then, however, I woke up, feeling as if my viewpoint was slowly being drawn out of my body until I was awake.
