Global Warfare (WMD Not Included)

I was wandering the aisles of a department store where they sold a Global Warfare game set. The game, however, did not include the Weapons of Mass Destruction, and they had set up a counter where they explained why not.

The counter had a large tank of gasoline and a number of other chemicals. They demonstrated how Sodium, when dropped in water, exploded, by dropping a little tablet of the substance which they had into some.

I took one of the tablets and put it in a little futuristic device I had in the shape of a circle from which a projector popped out and a small handle, which then produced a map of some college campus. It wouldn't display any other maps though, so I took it to the customer service counter. When I got there, however, it was a CVS/Pharmacy.

Climbing over the counter at the front of the pharmacy, I tentatively approached one of the people who was working at a computer next to my Dad. She assured me that I was in the right spot despite it being a CVS location, and I explained my device's problem to her. Activating it, it displayed a 3d fantasy world instead of the map, projecting the world over one's entire vision and displaying a fly-over of the terrain.

Canadian Cop from America

I and my Mom were going to arrest a criminal in Montreal, Canada, as I had a Canadian Police badge and warrant and whatnot. When we got to the location where we knew him to be located, I knocked on the door of one of the houses, to no response.

Walking around the building, we saw that the side window was broken, and that there were people inside. They asked us what we were doing there, and after a bit of uneasiness I told them I was looking for someone. One of them, an older lady, jumped up, asking if I was looking for my grandmother. I said I was, and she rushed out happily, bringing the other people who were inside with her. They all began to converse with my Mom, and a slightly hunched figure in dark dirtied clothing who was away from the crowd beaconed to me.

He lead me to another building, which looked like some sort of large barroom. Never speaking, he made some gestures before leaving. I then left to return to the group.

Talking with the other people, I concluded that the shadowy figure had been the criminal I was after. One of the people was dedicated to the criminal, and warned me that he would have to help him if it came down to that, although he was friendly enough otherwise. He was carrying what looked like a largish older assault rifle.

While we were walking through a hallway with rooms opening on the right side in another building, the criminal walked up behind us. As we continued walking, he pulled out a small silver revolver and began shooting people. As a few fell, the rest of us hid behind a wall which protruded into the hallway.

The ally of the criminal dashed after someone into one of the rooms off of the hallway, and I knew that I had to act now or never. Dashing out from cover and jumping at the criminal, I pushed his gun away from me as he shot it repeatedly, at some points with it aimed extremely close to my head such that I was surprised he didn't hit me. He paused to reload, and shortly after that I pulled the gun away from him.

He got up and started to run away as I shot at him, quite unsuccessfully. Pursuing him, I soon caught him and brought him back. The others had disarmed his ally. Leading them to the end of the hallway, I took out my warrant and began to tell them their rights and that they were under arrest.

While I was doing this, however, some officials from the Canadian police suddenly appeared, evidentially tracking my use of the warrant, and told me that my practices were most unorthodox and illegal, and that they were forced to take my badge away from me.

Diverse Empire's Groceries

I was maintaining the grocery database for the DE staff in a text file. The file was getting rather long and disorganized, so I told the rest of the staff that I'd make the categories more sensible, and that I'd think about writing a piece of software to automatically download the file, which was on a FTP server, and parse it.

Time Warps in the Hallways

I was in school, and when the bell rang at the end of art, I didn't want to leave, so I stayed where I was. When the next bell rang, I was scarred of retribution until I realized that it didn't matter if I missed the class right after art as it wasn't academic.

I realized that the second bell was actually the tardy bell, so I began to dash to the next class. On the way there, I realized I had left my roller backpack in the art room, and so I ran back and retrieved it. While once more on the way to the next class, I worried about the time warps which might affect whether I got there in a timely manner.
