Going to the Arcade

My parents took me to an arcade, and gave me about $12 to buy tokens with. Going from cash register to cash register and getting a few at each, I ended up with a handful of the silver coins, having spent all my money. At one of the cash registers, the clerk had said that she only dealt in cash when I asked for the tokens, and so I skipped to the next register.

Looking at the tokens, I figured that they must have an ID number magnetically stored in them, as they couldn't be differentiated if not.

Behind the cash registers there was a staircase which led down to a series of lanes which looked like those in bowling alleys. Lining all the lanes were gambling machines. I wanted to use them, but everyone else was still upstairs so I went over to join them.

I used some of my coins in the games and other machines along the walls while listening the people with me talk about Homestar Runner and other things.

Looking at the rack of items opposite the wall, I spotted a bag of Andes baking chips. I lamented the fact that I had spent all my money, as the establishment would not take tokens as payment for the items on their racks.

After I had walked around some more, someone else showed me two green cartons of andes mints cut into large circles, each wrapped in saran wrap. She said that she wanted to buy some of the baking chips, but evidentially didn't have enough money and wanted to enter in a venture with me whereby we'd split the cost. I was once again sad that I didn't have any money with me.
